Pula airport (052 530 105/www. airport-pula.com) is 6km (3.5 miles) north-east of the centre. Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) runs a regulär service from London Stansted and Dublin. Flyglobespan (www.flyglobespan.com) runs a weekly Service from late May to the end of October with Edinburgh (Sun). Croatia Airlines runs a service with Zagreb at least once a day. There is no public transport into town. A taxi costs about 200kn.


In summer there is a twice-weekly fast-boat service with Rimini and Venice. You can find details at www.find-croatia.com/ferries-croatia. The only service within Croatia is a car ferry between Zadar, Mali Losinj and Pula, from mid June to early September. It leaves Zadar five times a week at 6.30am, returning from Pula mid afternoon. The train Station is north on Kolodvorska, a ten-minute walk from the centre. A service from Zagreb runs four times a day, journey time about seven hours, with a bus between Rijeka and Lupoglav. There is also a daily service with Ljubljana (4hrs).


Pula has two bus stations, one in the city centre at Istarska, the other north-east of the amphitheatre at Trg Istarske Brigade (052 502 997). There are daily international Services from Trieste and Venice and a summer one on Fridays from Milan. There are buses every hour from Zagreb and regulär ones from the main towns in Istria. The local Pula bus Company Pulapromet (www.pulapromet.hr) runs Services to nearby Vodnjan, Premantura and Medulin as well as ones within town. Buses for Stoja (no.l) and Verudela (nos.2A and 3A) leave every 20 minutes. Nearly all stop at both stations in town. Tickets are 6kn from a newsstand, lOkn on board.
