With downtown closing early, nightlife is limited to certain bars in Veruda (see above) and a couple of mainstream clubs north-east of the centre. The best of these is Aruba (Sijanska cesta 1). Club Uljanik (Dobrilina 2, 098 285 969 mobile, www.clubuljanik.hr) by the harbour has an agenda of alternative bands and DJ nights, as does Rojc (see righf). The Napoleonic Fort Bourguignon near Valsaline Bay hosts regulär DJ events. Pietas Julia (www.pietas-julia.com) is run by the same people who run the Carpe Diem on Hvar -with a similarly exclusive clientele.
