Nostromo

One of the best restaurants in Rabac, Nostromo has a large, roofed terrace where diners can enjoy their meal looking out over Maslinica beach in Rabac Bay. Understandably, the menu majors on fish and seafood specialities - although not exclusively - and there's a good range of wines. Nostromo also rents rooms and apartments in season.

Three venues in one, all of them busy, all the year round. Down in the basement, a comfortable, half-trendy, half-rustic restaurant boasts glowing terracotta walls, plenty of artwork and a traditional open fire in winter. The food here is typical Istrian fare (no pizzas, despite what the pizzeria sign says) at very reasonable prices
- it s no wonder artists fill the place. Above, the cafe and its terrace throng in summer. The Rock Cafe nightspot occupies the first floor. Look out also for the Spider Cafe Bar opposite, another good late-hour drinking haunt, with DJs in summer.
