Open-air market
Trg Valdibora. Open 7am-4pm daily. Valdibora hosts a hectic open-air market selling the day's catch and local produce. The array of fresh seafood is almost reason enough to go self-catering. Browsing is great fun and there are plenty of items you can take with you: home-made grappa, wine and lavender oil. By 1pm, many fresh-food vendors go, leaving souvenir shops hawking knick-knacks made from shells, Croatian-flag beach towels, paintings, post­cards and other non-essentials.

The brainchild of Rovinj-born Mauro, a fashion consultant in Barcelona, S&C has proved a great success, expanding into and Dubrovnik.
